  • Managing a large variety of manual, automatic, and semi-automated woodworking equipment.
  • Wood marking, cutting, and shaping.
  • Making furniture by following requirements and designs.

How will I be assessed?

Stage 1:

Documentary Evidence Assessment

We will check the documentation of your education and employment to make sure you have:

  • 5 years of employment experience as a Cabinetmaker  (with no formal training)
  • 3 years of employment experience as a Cabinetmaker  (with relevant formal training)

Formal training” refers to instruction that complies with the national training requirements of the nation where you received it. You must prove that you have worked in your field for at least 12 months out of the previous three years.

What skills and knowledge do I need?

The MSF31113 Certificate III in Cabinetmaking is the relevant qualification for this position. To obtain the MSF31113 Certificate III in Cabinet Making certificate, you need to exhibit your proficiency in a few chosen units of competency. Every competency unit outlines a particular set of skills and knowledge required in Australian businesses.  

You must exhibit proficiency in each of the eight “General Cabinetmaking Workplace Skills” units and all twenty units in one of the two streams.
