Group A

This job needs a qualification similar to an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Diploma or higher.

There are four ways applicants can meet the assessment criteria for this job:

If you worked in this field before finishing your qualification, you must have at least one year of highly relevant work experience at the right skill level within the last five years. The other three years of work experience can be from the last ten years.

A positive Skills Assessment requires both a qualification at the right level and the right amount of work experience.

Group C

Additional qualifications in a highly relevant field include:

  • AQF Associate Degree
  • AQF Graduate Diploma

To meet the criteria for relevant paid employment (20 hours or more per week):

  • For 1-3 years of relevant employment, it must be highly relevant to the nominated occupation and completed at the appropriate skill level within the five years before applying for a Skills Assessment.
  • For 4 years of relevant employment, at least three years can be outside the last five years, but at least one year must be highly relevant and within the last five years before applying.

  • Presenting results through maps, charts, sketches, diagrams, and reports.
  • Performing routine mathematical calculations and measurements.

  • Conducting complex experiments, tests, and analyses according to procedures.
  • Preparing charts, sketches, diagrams, and flowcharts, and compiling data.
  • Participating in fabricating, installing, and modifying equipment to ensure critical standards are met.
  • Controlling the quality and quantity of laboratory supplies by testing samples and monitoring usage.
  • Assisting in preparing technical reports and documents for publication.
  • Maintaining standards of raw material supplies and ensuring prescribed procedures are followed in production environments.
