A bachelor’s degree or a higher that is equivalent to the educational standard that is part of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) or previous experience in a related field is necessary for this profession.
Candidates must satisfy at least one of the four prerequisites:

- Associate Degree from AQF or
- AQF Graduate Diploma
A bachelor’s degree or higher includes:
- Master’s Degree from AQF or

Paying for highly relevant employment with a duration of (20 hour or more per workweek)
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in the occupation is required to be at an acceptable standard of skill. The relevant experience must be acquired 5 years prior to the date for the skills assessment.4 At least six years of job experience must be demonstrated comprising five years of work that is relevant (which may not yet be completed within the last 5 year) and at a minimum one year of work that is highly relevant completed within five years preceding the applying.
It is assumed that the job will be completed prior to obtaining the required degree of certification. If this is the case, the applicant must have completed at minimum one year of highly relevant work and have a sufficient amount of expertise in the preceding five years. The five years of pre-qualification could have been completed in the previous 10 years. A positive evaluation of the length of employment as well as the level of education is necessary to allow an assessment of the Skills Assessment to be concluded positively.
