    Employment information

Drama teachers who provide private tuition help students improve their physical, vocal, and intellectual skills to create challenging and diverse theatrical works. They can work in various settings such as private acting or drama studios, theater production companies, independent performing arts schools, private agencies, drama associations, or as independent contractors.

This occupation falls under the ANZSCO Unit Group 2492 Private Tutors and Teachers category. Private tuition involves additional teaching beyond what’s covered in formal school curriculums, often for profit. It’s usually offered to individuals or small groups, with the students paying for the training. This training typically occurs in private establishments rather than schools.

While registered school teachers may also provide private tuition, this would be separate from their formal school responsibilities. So, if a school teacher offers extra tutoring in drama outside of the regular curriculum, they would be classified under this occupation.
